Stadio Olimpico
Spezia, Italy
Saturday, 8 April 2023
Kick-off is at 21h45

SS Lazio will go head to head with Juventus FC in an Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico on April 9.

Current Form

The Eagles claimed a 2-0 win over AC Monza away on April 2 as they extended their unbeaten run to six matches in the league.

Lazio are also undefeated in their last two matches at home having recorded two consecutive wins at the Stadio Olimpico.

While Juventus secured a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona at home on April 1 and it was their third successive win in Serie A.

The Old Lady have won two of their last three matches on the road, while the other game ended in a win as the away side.

What Is At Stake

Lazio are competing for a top two finish in the Serie A this season as they are placed second on the standings - 16 points behind log leaders, SSC Napoli.

Maurizio Sarri's side will cement their position in the second spot if they beat Juventus, but the Old Lady are in good form.

Juventus are placed seventh on the league standings and a win over Lazio would see the Old Lady boost their ambitions of finishing in the top six.

Team News

Mario Gila is an injury doubt ahead of the match against Juventus as the Lazio centre-back is nursing a foot injury and the club has no suspension fears.

On the other hand, Juventus players Kaio Jorge, Paul Pogba and Leonardo Bonucci are currently injured, but the club has no suspension worries.

Key Players

Lazio will look to Ciro Immobile who is the team's joint top scorer with nine goals and the Italian striker has the ability to single handedly inspire his side to a win over Juventus.

While Juventus' top scorer in the current season is Dusan Vlahovic who has eight league goals and the Serbian centre forward will be keen to propel his side to a win over Lazio.

Quotes

"It was a complicated match, as they always are after the international break. It was a tough game and we knew it was going to be because Verona made you play badly, they pressed all over the pitch," Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said after their clash with Verona.

"That's why we were blocked in the opening minutes, then we managed to move the ball around and create chances. We could have done better once we had taken the lead and doubled our advantage, without giving them a chance to get near our area.

"It's something we need to improve on. Now we've got Inter Milan. "As for the youngsters, what counts is that they have the quality. Next Gen is an important step because it allows Juve to bring these players through into the first team over the next few seasons."

Head-to-Head

Juventus thrashed Lazio 3-0 in their last meeting in the league which was on 13 November 2022 at the Allianz Stadium.

As a result, the Old Lady are enjoying a six-match unbeaten run in the league against Eagles having recorded two draws and four wins.
